Hot Phone, Coolpad: The Best Affordable Phone on the Block

Introducing: Conjr by Coolpad. Photo: © TNG

Blogging and working on social media require hours of phone time to complete, which burns up a ton of battery life on my cell phone. Because of this, I’ve looked for, and found, the perfect work phone in the Coolpad Conjr.

My main phone uses iOS, but as a person who runs a business based of off social media engagement, I felt it was important to be able to understand users in the Android world.

Coolpad powered by Android, makes the Conjr — a sleek, easy-to-use, high-quality, inexpensive phone that does everything I need a phone to do. For blogging, I need easy WiFi connectivity, social media management capabilities, a strong camera for photos and video, and photo editing apps.

So far, I’ve been able to do this with no problems whatsoever as long as I’m connected to WiFi. I wanted to make it a point to NOT have to pay for an extra phone plan so I could save money, which opened up my options while looking for a device. The Conjr uses GSM bandwidth, which is actually compatible with some major wireless carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS, but not Verizon or Sprint.

Despite this, I see it as a win for money-saving purposes. Not only will I not be tempted to add a new line to my plan, but the phone itself is only $179. For anybody who has ever had to pay full price for a phone, you know exactly how much of a bargain that is, and with specs that are perfect for what I need to do.

This phone’s powerful cameras have made shooting on-the-spot very easy, be it just a photo or, a feature that I love, an auto-generated GIF. The 13MP rear camera is fantastic for getting a well detailed shot in a sub par atmosphere. The front-facing camera is 8MP, which is crazy, because that’s the same as the regular camera on my iPhone. This is good and bad; good, because it’s detailed, and bad, because I’ve finally realized how scary my face is up close because both sides have a flash… can’t unsee some things, you know what I mean?

Other details that I’ve loved are the multi-fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone, the lightweight metal body, the GIF feature, as mentioned, and the D-curve design, which sits perfectly in the palm of my hand.
